And then there were four... Feisty Tapas groups

If you have been following my journey with Feisty Tapas for a while, you'll know I absolutely love the interaction and sense of community that Facebook groups provide. So, it probably is no surprise that I now run four Feisty Tapas groups. Yes, you read right, FOUR. All groups are Closed so your participation in them will not show on your friends' feeds unless your friends are also members.

Over the last few years Feisty Tapas has changed a lot. It has gone from a space just for me to put my thoughts out there as a new mummy to a whole community. Very focused on kitchen gadgets, we make sure that the ones worth the money get used. But not just that, we also focus on health and living life, whatever it throws at you.

I sometimes receive messages and comments from old readers, the ones who have known the blog since its beginnings, when I didn't think anyone was reading. Those messages and comments mention the blog in its previous format. One in particular stuck with me. It said something like "I miss your chatty posts". It took me a while to realise that the chatty posts hadn't disappeared. They had just moved. To my Facebook groups to be exact. Or to one Facebook group at the beginning. Then to another one. Then to another one.

My Facebook groups have become a bit of a microblogging platform for me.

Two of my groups are still restricted to the UK, why? Well, so that we can make moments like this happen...

Feisty Tapas group meetup May 2016 in Ely

You see, there is nothing better than being able to meet you guys in person and for you, my community, to meet each other too, after all you all regularly chat and have fun online so why not face to face too. The photo above is from the May 2016 meetup, such a fantastic day. Conversations started straight away and never stopped, people came from all corners of the UK and brought fabulous homecooked food with them.

Feisty Tapas is all about living life and cooking food the way that best suits your lifestyle. There is a strong focus on kitchen gadgets because I myself use them a lot. I have fibromyalgia and, without them, I'd have had to stop cooking altogether. On a bad day my hands don't let me chop, I am extra clumsy and I don't have the energy to even consider cooking. It looks like a lot of us have this in common and so the Health Warriors group was born. Because life is for living.

This is how it's all organised now, we have a global Kitchen Gadgetry group, the place to unleash your inner gadget geek wherever you live. Two UK-based groups: Thermo Cooking and Pressure Cooking UK. And another global group, called Health Warriors.

1.

The newest group is Kitchen Gadgetry with Feisty Tapas, which you should join if you like a kitchen gadget or two (or three or four...). Just hold on tightly to your purse while perusing it. It's a global group in terms of both geography and gadgets so, if you haven't been able to join in the fun of the other two Feisty Tapas cooking groups because I restrict them to the UK, then this is your chance to get in on the action.

2.
Thermo Cooking UK with Feisty Tapas

Thermo Cooking UK with Feisty Tapas: the group that started all groups. It was called Thermomix Owners UK when I opened it in October 2013. If you are based in the UK with your Thermomix, your Aldi Multi Chef, Lakeland Multichef, Tefal Cuisine Companion, KitchenAid Cook Processor, Kenwood K Cook and so on, this is the group for you. We make sure that you use them regularly with a lot of recipe inspiration.

3.
Pressure Cooking UK with Feisty Tapas

Pressure Cooking UK with Feisty Tapas: the group that came along a few weeks after the Instant Pot did. For all types of pressure cookers (stove-top, electric, multicookers). You will find support and inspiration. We will make sure those pressure cookers are in use.

4.

Feisty Tapas' Health Warriors

Feisty Tapas' Health Warriors: It turns out that a lot of us kitchen gadget lovers deal with health conditions in our daily lives. Is it coincidence that we turn to kitchen gadgets to help us? This group is open to everyone, whatever your location or ailment. Expect chat, support and one or two swearwords when life kicks us in the teeth.

--------

As you can see we remain as (polka) dotty as ever. Which group(s) are you going to join or do you belong to?

Maria
