How to reheat Christmas Pudding in a Pressure Cooker
A simple way to reheat your Christmas Pudding in your pressure cooker, above all if it's electric, while you enjoy your Christmas dinner with zero rush
1Christmas Puddingyou can fit more in if you have little puddings. This can be a shop-bought or homemade Christmas Pudding.
250mlwater (1 cup water)cold, use 500 ml water (2 cups) if you have bigger pressure cooker, eg. a 7.8 litre, 8 litre or 8 quart
Instructions
Pour the 250 ml water (1 cup water) into the inner pot. Use 500 ml water, 2 cups, if you are using a large-capacity pressure cooker.
Put the steam rack in place, most pressure cookers come with one these days, use that one. You can also use a steamer basket which make it easier to get the pudding in and out.
Place 1 Christmas Pudding on the steam rack (or trivet or steam basket) to reheat. If they're little, you can reheat more than one at the same time (no need to increase timings). See notes above to know what to do with the wrapping.
Use the following timings to reheat on Christmas Day: - Small puddings: 10 minutes at high pressure- Medium and large puddings: 30 minutes at high pressure
If you have an electric pressure cooker, leave on Warm for as long as you need to while you enjoy your Christmas Dinner and subsequent lounging around. If you're in a rush all of a sudden, you can do a quick pressure release but, otherwise, forget they even exist and, when you remember, they'll be magically ready for you.
Honestly, there's no way of killing these things so don't worry too much and have a fabulous Christmas!
