    • Pour 500 ml water (cold) in the inner pot, trivet in place (lower setting if it’s the Duo Crisp trivet), place the 700 g pork ribs (or however many you want) on the trivet jenga style so that they can balance on each other.

    To glaze:

    • Duo Crisp / Ninja Foodi: Discard the cooking water. Quickly dry the inner pot and place back on the base. Place ribs in an ovenproof dish (I use an enamel dish) and smother with BBQ sauce of your choice (or sauce of your choice). Swap the Crisp trivet to the higher setting. Place the dish on the trivet. Air Frying lid on, press Grill / Broil (204ºC / 400ºF) and programme 5 minutes. If your air fryer lid or air fryer go higher in temperature do it! Enjoy!

    Notes

    *Instant Pot Terminology
Quick pressure release (QPR, also called quick release or QR) means venting the steam as soon as the pressure cooking process finishes, i.e. moving the steam release handle from Sealing to Venting.
Natural pressure release (NPR, also called natural release or NR) means letting the float valve pop back down of its own accord, so basically you don’t need to do anything at the end and can keep your feet up. If it takes over 15 minutes, you're ok to release the rest of the steam (by turning the steam release handle to Venting) that may be left in order to unlock and open the lid.
Sometimes you'll see me talk of a combination of NPR followed by a QPR. For example a recipe may have a 4 minute NPR followed by a QPR. You wait for 4 minutes at the end of the pressure cooking time and then do a QPR by moving the steam release handle from Sealing to Venting.

Hold on, I can finish them off in an Instant Pot?

Yes you can, with the Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer!

The Crisp comes with two lids:

    • the usual Instant Pot standard lid (actually self-sealing with pressure release button so quite fancy)
    • an Air Fryer Lid that also dehydrates!!

You can swap between the lids in no time and you can even lift the Air Fryer Lid to check progress, the cooker will pause and then continue where it left off once you put the lid back on.

Super easy to use, the Crisp also has a sous vide setting!

So it pressure cooks, it slow cooks, it steams, it sous vides... it will basically make your life A LOT EASIER and so much less messy.

Seriously, who likes cleaning the oven?

The Crisp is super easy to keep clean. The inner pot, air fryer basket, tray plus trivet (steamer rack) all go in the dishwasher.

The Air Fryer lid just needs a quick wipe.

Want to pressure cook ribs for more than two people?

Add more ribs and keep the timings the same. Just remember not to fill past the ⅔ line of your Instant Pot.

    Remember those filling rules.

I don't like BBQ sauce so I made these with a dry rub. I pressure cooked first then just sprinkled a dry mix of spices ( cumin, garlic, salt, turmeric, onion) and air fried for 6 then turned and 2 min later I had delicious, moist ribs.
