Following on from my previous Needlework Days last week, I thought I would sneak in another post this month as I have just found a little bit of a treasure. These are my hippy flowers with a free cross stitch pattern.
I love hippy flowers, seventies-style, I do love colourful things too. I already told you about the squares of cloth that my “abuela” (Spanish for grandma) prepares for me by crocheting all around the edge. This is one of them, years ago I created this pattern on a notebook, the other day I found it and at the weekend I found the tablecloth that for quite a while covered the glass on the back door of our previous house, before that it was used to cover the square Lack coffee table from Ikea that I had in my flat whenever nice guests came round.
As you can see, I used contrasting colours but feel free to make it your own.
It is a very easy-to-stitch pattern that you can use as one flower or a set of them. I would love to see it stitched in the back pocket of a pair of jeans or a denim skirt.
Below you can see the pattern and you can download it as a PDF here.
