Super easy Instant Pot Baked Camembert and no risk of it burning if you forget you have it in the oven! If you're in the United States, you might call this Brie. In fact, do you?

📖 Recipe
Instant Pot Baked Camembert
Equipment
- 1 Instant Pot or pressure cooker
- 1 Trivet or steam rack
- 1 Greaseproof Paper or Camembert Baker
Ingredients
- 1 camembert not all of them work great, Le Rustique certainly does though. Aldi’s does too.
- 250 ml cold water
Instructions
- Wrap a camembert cheese in parchment paper or place in a Camembert Baker. Place 250 ml water in the inner pot, put the trivet in place with the camembert parcel on top.
- Using Greaseproof Paper? Pressure Cook, high pressure, 10 minutes, wait 10 minutes after it finishes cooking and do a QPR (there usually is no steam left to release). Using a Camembert Baker? Do 12 minutes with 12 minutes NPR if using a Camembert Baker as the heat will need to get through. If using a baker feel free to add flavours (see note below).
- Unwrap. Wipe any extra moisture with kitchen paper and transfer to a plate.
- Cut a cross on it for access and dip your favourite bread (how much am I wishing right now I’d had better bread at home!).

Notes
I absolutely adore Baked Camembert cheese and all its calories but I begrudge having to preheat the oven for it (and mainly having to wait for it to preheat), in comes the Instant Pot’s pressure cooking function.
If you’re a member of my Pressure Cooking UK with Feisty Tapas, you’ll have noticed that my lunches are usually a last-minute from-the-freezer affair so this is a real treat.
And, yes, of course, “you” can eat it all on your own or, you know, you could share with friends with a nice bottle of wine or bubbly…
How-To Video
Want to use a Camembert Baker instead of parchment paper?
If you want to add some flavour before “baking” your camembert in your Instant Pot, use a Camembert Baker instead of the parchment paper.
Amazon has a good selection of camembert bakers here. I bought mine from TKMaxx.
Timing if using a Camembert Baker: you will need to add cooking time if you use a Camembert Baker due to the fact that they are thick and heat will take longer to get through than it does with the greaseproof / parchment paper. The recipe walks you through this.
What flavours could you add if using a Camembert Baker? I personally like cutting a cross and adding garlic, white wine and rosemary.
Can you do the same with Brie?
You sure can, timings are going to depend a bit on the size of the brie. For a wedge I would probably halve the timings. If you have a round brie wheel that is on the big side, chances are the timings will be the same.
Want to do it in the air fryer instead?
Use this recipe for a delicious baked camembert or two or three.

This worked really well. Didn’t have a camembert baker but used a pot covered in foil. Medium heat for 12 mins with 12 mins rest.
